Ufomammut is a power trio formed in 1999 in Italy by Poia, Urlo and Vita and worldwide recognized as the creator of a unique brand of psychedelic sludge.
With long songs, droning vocals and massive effects the band combines a monumental riffing attitude with the psychedelia of the more visionary Pink Floyd.
Since the beginning, Ufomammut has always been in search of its own sonic way: developing from a primordial acid album like “Godlike Snake”, the band focused on a more mature and evil sound with the second album “Snailking”.
The third album “Lucifer songs”, opened new and unexpected doors, being the result of a mature and tight-knit band willing to experiment whilst maintaining its dna.
With monolithic and repetitive riffs submerged by a psychedelic and magmatic sound, “Idolum” brought the band to a new level of sound.
Eve, the fifth album, comprised of one 45-minute atmospheric track, divided into five distinct movements (acts as a living homage to the first woman on Earth, and the rebellion to her creator for bringing knowledge to Mankind) comes out in 2010.
Eve is an undeniably infectious and utterly devastating piece of doom metal art.
ORO is the title for Ufomammut’s sixth album, divided into ten massive movements overall which has been delivered in two separate pieces during 2012: the first chapter called Opus Primum and the second chapter called Opus Alter.
Although Oro’s two chapters have been released months apart from each other, they must be considered as a single track in which the musical themes and the sounds show up and hide, mutating and evolving, progressively and increasingly stratifying culminating in the crushing final movement.
As with all previous Ufomammut albums, the concepts behind Oro are expansive and multi-faceted, mutating the Italian palindrome which translates to “gold” with the Latin translation of “I prey.”
Oro explores the concept of knowledge and its power, the magical stream controlled by the human mind to gain control of every single particle of the World surrounding us. Oro is the alchemical process to transform the human fears into pure essence, into Gold.
Since 2013, Ufomammut have been slowly working on a video project, a dvd featuring over three hours of live footage (including "Magickal Mastery Live", a 12 song live act), interviews, and outtakes.
Titled XV, this audiovisual experience also presents a documentary about the first 15 years of the band.
"Ecate" is the seventh and latest album from Italian power trio.
Ecate is the ancient Greek goddess of the three worlds: The World of Humans, The World of the Gods and The World of the Dead. Throughout the centuries, her powerful figure has transformed in shape and meaning. As were many pagan deities, she came to be viewed as a negative entity associated with witchcraft and black magic by the Christian church.

Ufomammut’s “Ecate" is composed of six separate tracks, each one is a representation of one of her many manifestations. This album is surely an evolution in terms of composition and song structure. “Ecate” takes the epic nature of their last Neurot release, “ORO”, and distils it further into something more concise, aggressive, and yet as complex as the goddess, Ecate herself. Here the band continues to climb and further expand upon their previous works by infusing them into "Ecate", giving the past a new form. Just as the goddess presents herself in three different forms, so too the music moves between multiple levels of existence.

8 is the Ufomammut’s 8th album (2017), comprised of 8 tracks that flow into each other without interruption. This flow can also be seen when you tip 8 horizontally, thus it morphs into the leniscate from algebraic geometry – ∞ – a plane curve that meets at central point – or more commonly known as the infinity symbol.
A continuous stream of movement reflective of the uninterrupted nature of the album but also the continued togetherness of the essential elements of the band – Urlo, Poia and Vita – since the beginning of the band’s history in 1999. ∞ tipped vertically sees us return to the number 8. It must be stressed there is no singular pronunciation of the title, 8 is to be spoken in every language e.g. “eight” in English, “otto” in Italian, “acht” in German, "huit" in french and so on. 8 is a continuous flux of music, a singular entity, which can be defined in micro measurements by its 8 satellite songs. Each track expands upon the preceding song, unfolding into an exceedingly dense and malevolent journey, resulting in this being Ufomammut’s most extreme venture yet, with no room for breathing space in the 48 minutes.

Ufomammut’s status as one of the most potent, powerful and artistic contemporary doom artists in existence continues to captivate the masses, and the band’s worldwide grasp grows wider with each release.
In 16 years the band has played several times around Europe reaching North America in 2015, with a monthly tour that saw them play from Coast to Coast.
Ufomammut has performed at international music festivals like Roadburn, Hellfest, Asymmetry, Stoned from the Underground, Dour Festival, Ieper fest, Desert Fest, Metalride fest, FIMAV, Maryland Death Fest and has shared the stage with bands such as DOWN, BARONESS, MOTORPSYCHO, NEUROSIS and many more.
Ufomammut’s live show is supported by the internationally acclaimed video and graphic art of Malleus, a rock artists’ collective who conjure the entirety of Ufomammut’s visual impact.
